TORRE TAVIRA – Cámara Oscura leads since 2005 an accesibility project for this cultural device: the need of a lift for this Tower. This action is carried out in order to facilitate the access to the installations to anyone who, for physical reasons, can notunfortunately climb up the 173 steps that currently has Tavira Tower.
For the time being, the Heritage Commission from Junta de Andalucia allegues “visual pollution” to reject our request, whilst the project presented provees that it is possible to install a lift in a respectful way with the monument, with the environment and complying with current regulations.
We ask for the support of all citizens in order to collect enough signatures which will help us to achieve this dream and become an accessible tourist attraction.
